Happy New Year!
We sincerely hope you and your families enjoyed a peaceful and safe holiday season. As we look back on 2020, we are grateful for everyone who contributed to the success of This Week in Maritime. You helped keep us all connected by sharing your experiences and expertise on the topics of discussion.
We are pleased to kick off 2021 with a focus on what we all have been hoping for over the past nine months – a vaccine designed to help bring this global pandemic to an end. We’ll dive into the logistics surrounding how to vaccinate hundreds of thousands of seafarers, whether universal vaccination should be required or is even necessary, and the myriad of other challenges our industry will face with respect to the COVID-19 vaccine.
Our next session is scheduled for Wednesday, January 13th, and will focus on the logistics of getting our seafarers vaccinated, one small but critical step in ending the seafarers’ humanitarian crisis.
Our industry experts will include:
Dr. Ilona Denisenko, Medical Doctor and former Chair of International Maritime Health Association (IMHA)
Fred Kenney, Director, Legal Affairs and External Relations Division, International Maritime Organization
Kuba Szymanski, Secretary-General, InterManager
Moderator: Jillian Tobias, President, Logon Media Strategies
